Website hosting
This website is hosted using Replit. When you visit, your browser connects to the hosting infrastructure, which may process technical data such as your IP address, request time, requested page, browser details and error information to deliver the site and maintain its security and operation. We rely on our legitimate interest in operating a secure, functional website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Hosting infrastructure may retain access or security logs; the exact retention period depends on the hosting provider’s configuration. Please contact us if you need more information about retention.
Website fonts
Montserrat and Source Sans 3 font files are served from this website’s hosting infrastructure. Loading these fonts does not cause your browser to connect to Google Fonts. Requests for the font files are handled as part of website hosting as described above.
Meetup event information and cover images
Our server retrieves public meeting details and approved event cover images from Meetup and temporarily caches them. Cover images are served through this website, not loaded directly from Meetup by your browser. We do not forward visitors’ IP addresses, browser details or cookies to Meetup in these requests. Viewing the Events page therefore does not connect your browser to Meetup; following a Meetup link does.
Contact by email
Email links open your own email app using a mailto link. Nothing is sent until you choose to send it from your email app. If you email us, we process the information you provide to respond to your enquiry, relying on our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Your email provider and ours also process the message under their own terms. We keep correspondence as long as needed to deal with the enquiry and any applicable legal obligations; no fixed retention period is specified here.
Contact and registration forms (Google Forms)
The Klagenfurt and Villach contact forms and the temporary Klagenfurt info-session registration form are hosted by Google. Each club uses a separate contact form; enquiries are made available to the organiser of the selected club’s form. The forms open in an overlay dialog only after you select “Contact us” or “Register now”. No form is loaded while you browse the page or dismiss this website’s informational privacy notice. Opening a form connects your browser to Google, which receives technical data such as your IP address and browser details and may use cookies or other storage under its own policies. The optional “Open in a new tab” link also takes you to this Google service. See Google’s Privacy Policy (opens in a new tab) for details, including international data processing.
If you submit a form, your answers are processed by Google and made available to the form organiser to respond to your enquiry or manage your info-session registration. They are not submitted to this website’s server. Please provide only information needed for your enquiry or registration. Closing the dialog removes the form from the page; it does not delete data already sent to Google, stored cookies or submitted responses. Removing the temporary registration form from this website also does not delete responses held by Google or the organiser. For questions about access to responses, retention or deletion, contact us using the privacy contact above.
External links and tracking
This website links to third-party sites, including Meetup and Toastmasters International. If you follow a link, the destination site may process your data under its own privacy policy. The current site does not include Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel or other advertising trackers. This statement describes the website itself and does not cover your browser, email provider or third-party sites.
Privacy notice preference
If you dismiss the privacy notice displayed on this website, your browser stores that choice in local storage so the notice stays hidden on later visits. This setting is kept in your browser and is not sent to us. You can clear it using your browser’s site-data settings; the notice will then appear again. It is not consent to analytics or advertising.
Info-session invitation
To show the temporary Klagenfurt info-session invitation after one minute and avoid repeating it during the same visit, this website uses session storage in your browser to record when the visit began and whether the invitation has been shown. These values are not sent to us and normally disappear when the browser tab is closed. Closing the invitation or choosing to view registration does not load a Google form; the registration form connects to Google only when you select “Register now”.
Your rights
Subject to the applicable conditions under the GDPR, you may request access to, correction or erasure of your personal data, restriction of processing, data portability, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can contact us at villach@toastmasters-carinthia.at. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, including the Austrian Data Protection Authority (opens in a new tab).
